I know they owned property in Jones County in the early 1920's. From family stories the property was taken by the bank or tax department after the death of George Hawkins and the children sent to seperate homes. My ggg-grandfather was Israel GRAY who was a Quaker and married Rebecca DIXON, the daughter of Joseph DIXON. He was born about 1777.They lived in western Pennsylvania but do not show in the census there until 1820.

William's will was introduced into Court of Ordinary May Term 1816. Known children were Baldy and George Walker. Henry Pelt was named administrator, and guardians of Baldy and George. Very interested in the relationship between Henry Pelt and the Walker. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

KING posted by Alix Ambler on Thursday, September 12, 2002: I have a new email address:ajambler@houston.rr.com I have made no more progress on STARKEY King, who showed up the in census in 1850 & 1860 in Jones County; in 1870 in Johnston County; in 1880 in Lenoir County. I have no definite proof of his ancestors. I think possibly GEORGE was his father and FELIX his brother, but have no proof.
