I work in the Craven County Library. A patron is asking for the name of a sheriff who was murdered in the era of the Civil War. There were actually two who were murdered; one was Nethercutt; the other name is not known. If you know this information, would you please also let me know the circumstances under which this occurred. Thanks. Ann Sorocki
I am searching for information on my great-grandmother, Mary A. Wood Jones Baker. She was born in Jones County, NC on 25 October 1880. Her parents were Joseph and Sue Wood. Any information that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am a dead end on this branch of my family tree.

I am looking for information on a cemetary that I am told is close to the county lines of Jones and Craven. A newly found distant cousin has information that my gt(x5) grandfather(his gt(x4) was buried in a cemetary in Dover on the county lines of Jones and Craven Co. I have no clue where Dover is located and a search tonight only turned up Dover, DE and info on the race track there. I also received other info that he was buried in Shamburger Cemetary near Dover Baptist Church under a cedar tree. This would have been after 1820 or 1830 depending which report I use. All of us have hit a stump with this person. The name is John SPIVEY m. to Sussanna STUTTS. Do you have any information of such a cemetary? Any information would be greatly appreciated by all of us. Thank you. _________________________________________________________________
