I am trying to find ancestors of Louisa J or Eliza J. FOY. She is listed in the 1850 census in Tennessee as being from North Carolina. I have found a few Foys in Jones County in 1840 who might match. She was born about 1827. She had 4 children before she married in 1867. She probably moved to Tennessee before 1847. I can't find any connections in TN. I am looking for more info on Hardy MITCHELL, b. abt 1770, prob. old Dobbs Co (later Glasgow, now Greene). Owned property in Jones Co during the 1790's. Married to Barbara (LNU), and moved to Davidson Co, TN about 1800. While in Jones Co, Hardy owned property with members of the Emanuel SIMMONS family, and he or his wife may be related to them. He also appears to be related to Abraham MITCHELL, Alexander MITCHELL, William MITCHELL, and Anthony MITCHELL in that area. Hardy MITCHELL may have been named for a maternal "HARDY" (surname) in his ancestry, so I am also looking for a MITCHELL + HARDY marriage in his ancestry. Any info would be appreciated.
