John Nethercutt had been Sheriff of Jones County before the War Between the States, then served as Major and Colonel in N. C. forces (actually serving as brigadeer general at Bentonville, though never actually promoted). In December, 1867, he was killed at his home by intruders. HYMON(HYMAN), brother to Sarah Frances HYMAN FULFORD (spouse of Joseph FULFORD of New Bern NC) married Marianna HUGGINS on April 29, 1852. He was killed during the Civil War. I am seeking relatives who may have the HYMAN family Bible with marriages, deaths, etc., so I can trace the HYMAN lineage. Any suggestions or data would be gratefully appreciated. I have found a few entries in the NC ref. room of Joyner Library of ECU in the Records of Jones Co. 1779-1868. Thanks for your response.

She was married to Thomas West (son of Andrew WEST and Typhenia MAIDES) about the year 1800. They were from Jones County, NC, but raised their family and died in Robertson County, Tennessee. Other EUBANKS living in Robertson County were James EUBANK (17Dec1787 - 8Nov1879), Martin EUBANKS, and Elijah EUBANKS. I feel these were probably her relations. Thomas and Rachael's children were: Elijah WEST, Martin E. WEST, David WEST, Andrew WEST, Typhenia WEST, Rebecca Eliza WEST, Laney WEST, and Sarah (Sallie) WEST. Can anyone help me. I'd apprecite all leade and am willing to share decendant information.

I'm looking for the parents of Joseph MURPHY. He was born 12/18/1842 and died 03/22/1917. He was married to Lettie HOWARD, born 02/25/1842 and died 06/01/1923. they were living in Jones County when she passed away. They had five children that I know of. They are buried in the Murphy family burial ground in Jones County.

There is a George STEPHENS listed in the 1790 census for Jones Co., NC, but I need more documentation to establish this as my family. They had at least one son, named Stephen STEPHENS, who married Mary Barrow.
