I am looking for information on Andrew FOY. I believe he is a son of one of the FOY families in either Jones or Craven counties. Andrew was born in the mid to late 1700s, probably around 1770. He moved to Stokes County before 1800. I believe he is either the son of Joshua FOY, who died in 1779 in Jones County, or the son of John FOY, B. 1726 MD, who died in 1791 in Craven County. Any help would be appreciated.
I am trying to find out the name of Edward WOOD's father. Edward was born about 1836 in Jones Co, to (Unknown) WOOD and his wife Nancy. Would also like to know Edward's spouse, if it is known. Edward appears to have been a brother to George WOOD, born abt 1828, John, abt 1831, Isaiah, about 1837, and Eliza A, abt 1832. I have a census report that says Nancy was born in Jones Co, NC. I am also aware that there were two Nancy WOOD's there at the same time. The one I'm looking for lived in the Beaver Dam area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WESTON, BROTHERS The following appears, dated 6 Aug 1901; recorded 16 Aug 1901 Hyde County Deed Book 25.315: G.H. Weston and wife "of Jones County," a deed transaction between them and W.T. and Ida P. Berry, in Hyde County. I hope somebody has access to the 1900 Jones County census, who will tell me if George Henry WESTON and wife (she was Henrietta Tripp WESTON) appear in it, and if so, who else is in the household. I am trying to find out where my mother, Mamie Weston BROTHERS, was at the time. Her mother had died in 1898, and she may have been living with her aunt, Henrietta. Thank you, Merlin Berry
BLACKSHEAR, Agnes and Alexander, late 1700's The Blackshears were included in the list of initial residents in Jones County when it was formed from Craven. I am interested in documenting the birthdates and marriage dates of their children and grandchildren. Believe dtr Sarah married Ezekiel CLIFTON (based on Ezekiel's will), and dtr Eleanor married Abraham BAILEY (based on tax lists). Would love to find out the name of Abraham's wife (and Alexander's mother). Alexander son of Abraham was named in his grandfather's will (believe I am descended from this branch). I am willing to share other information I have collected.
Would like to correspond with any LEE researcher having information regarding Amos J. LEE, died(?) 1853, as listed at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncjones/je-l.htm
I am researching an African-American family who lived in Trenton in Tuckahoe Township as early as 1865. Head of household was James COX, his wife was Mahaly and they had about 14 children. James and Mahaly were alive on the 1910 Jones Cty Census in their 80s. I am looking for any information on their kids, especially those who were named after foods: Ocra COX, Lemon COX, Quince COX, Orange COX. They also had a son named James COX. These folks would be dead, but their COX grandchildren would be living. I am looking for any African-American COX(s) in Jones Cty. One of their daughters, Charity, married a Frank HUSSEY and they had about 14 children, and also lived in Trenton. I was told some of these kids moved to Kinston, but have not been able to locate any African-Americans living there surnamed HUSSEY. I can be reached at 3562 Chelton Rd., Shaker Hts, OH 44120-5023 or by calling (216) 991-7653 or 1-800-743-2773, ext. 8063.
Interested in any information about James and Jonathan HOPKINS who were in Jones County in 1779. In that year James HOPKINS sold to John PICKERIN Jr. 100 acres on Raattlesnake Branch in Jones County, land which had been granted to John SANDERS in 1769. Witnesses were Jonathan HOPKINS and Gabriel PICKERIN.
