I am looking for the birthplace of Laban Brock born circa 1780-90. The earliest census record I know of is 1820 in Fairfield district SC. He later moved to Limestone county AL. The earliest record of him living in SC is a War of 1812 pension document. He served in McWillie's Rifles of the SC militia. His wife was Elizabeth. Her maiden name is unknown. Their children were Laban/Lebron Charles, William James and an unknown daughter. There may have been more but none that we know of. This line is supposed to be German and Cherokee. I do not know if we are related to the Chief Red Bird line. I do plan on participating in the 'Brock DNA project' of that line at some point. Some possible fathers for Laban, according to other family members, are Charles, George, Joseph and Christopher. Another name that was mentioned as a possibility for a father or relative at least was Reuben. I have personally found three different William's. One is in Pendleton district 1800. Another is in Union district in 1800. Yet another is in Jones county NC in 1790. Any help you may provide would be greatly appreciated. Email direct at:
