Will of Waxel Parrey ~ 1797
September the 23 day 1797
In the name of God amen I Waxel Parrey of Jones County and State of North
Carolina being weak in body but of perfect sound mid and memory both make and
Ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as followth
ITEM- I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Sivel Parrey one mare two cows
and calves her choise and all the hogs that I have also two beds, bed stands
and furniture , also two hoes two____one hatchek and two plows also one cart
and cart gearing also one side saddle also two wheels and land one loom and
loom gear all my house chaves two tables, my tubs poles frgins and chairs, all
the pot ironware, also thirty barrels of corn and three stacks of blade foden
also one chirt one cane and fottle three baskets all my filax and cotton also
all my potes corthen wave knives and forks one bridle also one man Todle
ITEM- I lend to my wife Sivel Parrey my land and plantation until my son
Frederic Parrey comes to the age of twenty one years after my said son coming
of age and one third part during her life or widowhood.
ITEM- I leave the resadue of my Cattle with my wife as Executors to disposed
of as hear after directed them in their in Crease, the she ones to be made use
of in my famely and the she ones of my cattle to be kept to the use of my wife
and children untill my daughter Ailee Parrey comes to the ago of eighteen or
marries and then to be equally divided between my three daughters Ailee Betsey
and Catherine

The resadue of my Estate I leave to be sold and the money arising there from
firft paying of all my just debts the remainder to be applied by my executors
to the maintenance and scooling of my said children
ITEM- I give to my said son Frederic Parrey my land and plantation to him and
his heirs and assigns my wife first progessing all the land untell my said son
comes to the age of twenty one years and then one third part during life or
widowhood
ITEM- I constitute and appoint my worthy friends John Parrey sonr and Durant
Hatcher Executors to this my last will and testament revoking all former wills
by me maid ratifing this as my last will and testament in writings where I
have unto set my hand and seal in presents of the subscribers being witnefes
as my last will and testament the day and above written

Then was the written and aforegoing last will & Testament of Waxil Parrey
decesd duly prov'd in open court by the Oath of Abram Gibson one of the
subscribing witnefses thereto agreeable to Law and Ordered to be recorded at
same time John Parry, ___(unreadable) the Executors therein name'd took the
Oath of an cauell for, ___ Ordere'd that Letters Testamentaory ifsue
accordingly
