Will of John Parray Senor ~ 1799
In the name of God Amen
John Parray Senor, of the county of Jones and State of North Carolina being
weak in body but of sound mind & memory do make and write this my last will
and testament in manner and form as following Viz
ITEM-I lend unto my beloved wife Sivel Parray, all my lands I now own & all my
other property to the Real or personal or any other wise duren her natural
life or widowhood
ITEM-I give unto my son John Parray all my land that I have lent unto my wife
Sivel, after her death or marriage to him and his heirs for Ever
ITEM-I leave all the Risidue of my Estate that is heretofore lent unto my wife
Sivel Parray, Except the land, to be equally devided into four parts, and one
fourth part to be equally devided between my two sons Adonijah Parray, & John
Parray, and the other three parts to be equally devided between my three
daughters Frances Smith & Zeruiah Koonce & Sivel Parray after the death or
marriage of my wife to their heirs & afsigns for Ever ---after paying all my
just debts
And lastly I hereby mananate my Loving Sons Adonijah Parray, John Parray &:
Tobias Koonce, Executors of this my last will and testament & all & every
other will or wills heretofore by me maid is hereby dulared Nul & voied and
acknowledging this and no other to be my last will and testament In witnefs
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of October, in
the year of our lord - 1799 & in the 23 years of our independence

Then was the written and aforegoing last will & Testament of John Parray
decesd duly prov'd in open court by the Oath of Hardy Parry, Nancy Smith &
Salley Williams the subscribing witnefses thereto agreeable to Law and Ordered
to be recorded at same time John Parry, ___(unreadable) the Executors therein
name'd took the Oath of an cauell for, ___ Ordere'd that Letters Testamentaory
ifsue accordingly

Jones County Court Nov Term 1800. Then was the aforeoing last Will & Testament
of John Parray since deceased duly foresaid in open court by the Oath of
Hardy Parry, Nancy Smith & Salley Williams are the subscribing Witnefes
thereto I ordered to be recorded, at same time Adonijah Parray & John Parry of
________ the executors herein named qualified as Executors thereto agreeable
to law Ordered that Letters Testamenting ifsure accordingly

The aforegoing last Will & Testament of John Parry since deceased was duly
recorded in the Clerk's office of Jones County in Book Letter A page 250 & the
probate thereon in page 251
