    YOUNG, WHITE, EDWARDS

I am searching for the grave of my GG-grandfather, John Young, died 1846 and born 1796-1797. He died in the now Maysville area and was a large landowner with a nice "elegant" home. At the time of his death, the area he lived in was called "Young's Crossroads". His wife, Nancy White Young, later married a Bryan Edwards and died before 1860. I would also like to know the location of her grave, if possible. All or any information would be appreciated.

I'm descended from William R. Ballard, who lived from 1823 to 1893 in Jones County, was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and married Mary Giles in Onslow County on 3 October 1844. There is a family legend that he sold his property around 1858 with an idea to free his slaves by allowing them to work for their freedom. Would anyone have any idea how to find evidence of this, or anything that would shed light on who his parents were?
