MAXINE POLLOCK HARRISON
Trenton—Maxine Pollock Harrison died Wednesday January 2, 2008, at
Craven Regional Medical Center. Maxine was born February 2, 1928, in
Trenton, North Carolina She was the daughter of Walter Washington
Pollock and Dora Estelle Kellum. She was a faithful member of Maple
Grove United Methodist Church her entire life, during which time she
served as pianist, past president of the United Methodist Women and
numerous other committees. She was a lifetime member and Past
Matron of Trenton Chapter No. 86 Order of the Eastern Star. Maxine
served as Register of Deeds of Jones County from 1984 until 1996
when she retired. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Ray
Harrison of Trenton; daughters Sonia Bourne and husband Bobby, of
Garner, N.C., and Sharon Rouse and husband Sterling, of Trenton;
granddaughters Leigh Anne Bourne Pope and husband Brian, of Raleigh,
N.C., Robin Bourne Betters and husband Patrick, of Willow Spring, N.C.;
great-granddaughter Lillian Ashley Pope of Raleigh; sisters Isabelle P.
Rodgers of Kinston, N.C., and Dorcas P. Lowery of Virginia Beach,
Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday
at Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Trenton with the Rev. Elva
“Bud” Morton officiating. Burial will follow at the Trenton Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
