Herbert Tyndall
Of Trenton Dies
Mt. Olive, Feb. 17 – Herbert Tyndall, 64, of Trenton, died at the Duke hospital
Wednesday morning.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rosa Parker of Morehead City; a son, J. P.
Tyndall, a professor at Atlantic Christian College at Wilson; two daughters, Mrs.
David Grey and Mrs. Alma T. Phillips, both of Trenton; a sister, Mrs. W. L. Dail of
Trenton; and three grandchildren. He was a brother of the late K. E. Tyndall of Mt.
Olive, and he had been an agent of the Smith Douglas Fertilizer Company of
Kinston for 20 years.
He was a farmer, active in civic affairs, a member of the Board of Education in
Jones County, active in church affairs and served as a deacon in the Chinquapin
Chapel Christian Church near his home.
Funeral services will be held at the Chiquapin Chapel Church at 3:00 p.m. Friday
with his pastor, Rev. Everett Harris, in charge, assisted by the Rev. A. C. Young of
Fort Thomas, Ky. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Kinston. The body will
be carried to the church one hour prior to the funeral.
