Mrs Cynthia C Pollock
Mrs Cynthia Cox Pollock, 92, one of Jones Counties oldest and best-known residents,
died at 4:15 pm Friday in a Kinston hospital. She was the widow of Jim Pollock of the
Shady Grove community in Jones County and the daughter of the late William S and
Liza Waller Cox. She was a member of Lanes Chapel Christian Church on Highway 58,
11 miles north of Trenton. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday from the chapel
at Howard and Carter Funeral Home. A former pastor, Rev LB Bennett will officiate at
the final rites. Burial will follow in the Pollock family cemetery in Chinquapin Township
in Jones County. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Lea Huggins of Trenton,
Mrs Willie G Westbrook of Kinston Route 3 and Mrs Garland G Hill of Kinston; six
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs JL Jarman of Trenton Route 2;
several nieces and nephews.
