Stephen Franklin Hill Family Bible
Note: Stephen Franklin Hill was the son of John Leonard Hill and Mary
Emily (Lancaster) Hill of Craven County. He married Beatrice Parolee
Loftin, the daughter of William Cox Rhem Loftin and Miriam (Register)
Loftin of Kinston, NC. The Bible measures 4 X 5 ½ and the cover is of
leather. The family record is written on the front and back end pages.
All the names are written in ink except for the last two names which
are written in pencil. The Bible is in good condition but showing
signs of wear. It is in the possession of their Grandson Steven J.
Hill, Raleigh, NC.

Additional Comments: After their marriage Stephen and Beatrice Hill
lived for a short time in Craven Co. near Vanceboro and by 1902, they
moved permanently to Jones County. Stephen died on 28 February 1934
and is buried next to his children Mariam and Michael on his farm near
Trenton, NC. Beatrice died on 25 August 1945 and is buried in
Maplewood Cemetery, Kinston, NC.
